Costs of ownership

Whisky maturation involves uncertainty

The volume of spirit may reduce through evaporation, commonly referred to as the “angel’s share”, and the alcohol strength may also change during maturation.

Whisky casks are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
The Financial Ombudsman Service may also not be available in relation to the purchase or ownership of a whisky cask.
