Transferring Ownership with WIUK®

When you purchase a cask through WIUK®, we assist you in setting up your own private account at an HMRC approved bonded warehouse. This account is essential for ensuring the full transfer of ownership into your name. Once the account is established, we issue a Delivery Order (DO) to finalise the process.

A Delivery Order is a legal document that authorises the transfer of goods, in this case, a whisky cask, from one party to another. It is an essential step in transferring ownership at the bonded warehouse. The DO is signed by both the seller (WIUK®) and the buyer, then presented to the warehouse, instructing them to officially transfer the cask into the buyer’s name.
